Description:

Regina Spektor, a Moscow-born singer-songwriter, has risen to critical acclaim with her eclectic and emotionally powerful music. Trained in classical piano from age six, she struggled with leaving her piano behind when her family immigrated to the Bronx during the Cold War but found solace in a synagogue piano where she practiced. Spektor's unrestrained creativity and playful approach to songwriting, coupled with her dynamic voice, have earned her a dedicated following, soundtrack features on popular TV shows, and sold-out performances, including at New York's Town Hall. Despite her success, she retains a grounded perspective shaped by her family's history and a cautious optimism about the future.
