Lyrics
People, people
Don’t blame the amplifiers
They were only amplifying
What needed to be amplified
And the stockings
Well that’s another story
Stretched and stretched
Disclosing what was classified
I got another river going
So tell me, tell me, are you proud
People, people
Don’t blame the amplifiers
It’s their job to make us loud
It’s their job to make us loud
Secret missions
We’re all on secret missions
Exorcists, ventriloquists
And the puppets
Well that’s another story
Dysfunctions happen
Strings twist
I got another story going
So tell me, tell me, are you proud
Oh secret missions
We’re all on secret missions
And we’re scared of our sound
It doesn’t matter what it used to be
It doesn’t matter what I used to know
It doesn’t matter that we couldn’t see
But we were driving so slow
We were driving so very slow
Calling all cars
Calling all cars
People people people
People, people
Don’t blame the amplifiers
They were only amplifying
What needed to be amplified
And the stockings
Well that’s another story
Stretched and stretched
Disclosing what was classified
I got another river going so
Tell me, tell me, are you proud
People, people
Don’t blame the amplifiers
It’s their job to make us loud
It’s their job to make us loud
It doesn’t matter what it used to be
It doesn’t matter what I used to know
It doesn’t matter that we couldn’t see
But we were driving so slowly
We were driving so very slow
Calling all cars
Calling all cars
