"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is a cover of a Beatles song performed by Regina Spektor. Regina recorded the song as part of the 2016 animated film Kubo and the Two Strings, during which the song plays. About the production of the song, Regina said in <a href="https://ew.com/article/2016/08/08/regina-spektor-guitar-gently-weeps/"an interview with Entertainment Weekly: "I’m a ginormous Beatles fan, but this song is sonically done in the world of the film, and the film is basically a samurai movie. It’s all Asian instruments; there’s a sweeping orchestra and, at the very end, there’s a boys’ choir. It’s a combination of wanting to do justice for all this hard work from the animators, [who live] the opposite life of a person who writes words in a song. I’m in the world of instant gratification and they’re in the world of being super careful and making very slow progress, so obviously [I wanted] to do right by their vision, but at the same time I wanted to bring the spirit of the Beatles into it.".

"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" was released as part of Kubo and the Two Strings (Soundtrack) on 2015-11-17. A music video featuring clips of the film and Regina's performance of the song was released on 2016-08-10.

"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" was performed live a total of three times, the last performance taking place in 2017.
