Ain't No Cover
Description
"Ain't No Cover" is a song originally composed, performed, recorded, and released by Regina Spektor. One of Regina's earliest songs, its first known performance was on 2001-03-10 in Gelterkinden, Switzerland. Beginning in 2005, after only a handful of performances between 2001 and 2004, "Ain't No Cover" would go on to become a mainstay of Regina's sets through to the present day. Despite this, "Ain't No Cover" was never studio-recorded. However, a live version was released as part of the EP Live at Bull Moose, released on 2005-09-13.
An a capella song with no instrumentation, the song is often featured as Regina's opener while on tour.

Lyrics
It ain't no cover
It ain't no style
I shouldn't bother
He's eight miles high
But I adore him
And I implore him
Saying I love a mother
But this ain't no style
He sits there smoking
His breath away
He sits there choking
On what they say
But I adore him
And I implore him
Saying one of these mornings
I'm going away
The sun is setting
The day is done
Good night, my lover
Good night, my son
I shouldn't bother
He's eight miles high
But I'll love a mother
Till the day that I die
Oh, till the day that I die, die die, die die, die die, die-die-die-die-die
Oh, till the day that I daaa, daaa, daaaiie
I shouldn't bother
He's eight miles high
But I'll love a mother
Till the day that I die
