Water Woman [Russian Version]
Description
"Water Woman [Russian Version]" is a song originally recorded and released by Quodia featuring vocals by Regina Spektor. This song was released on the CD/DVD version of Quodia's LP The Arrow on 2008-08-19. Quodia, described as a multi-media, story-telling performance group, was established by Trey Gunn of King Crimson and Joe Mendelson of Rise Robots Rise, who is responsible for keyboards, percussion, and processed/harmonized vocals, as well as mixing and mastering for the project. Regina's involvement in the project was due to her ongoing friendship with Joe Mendelson, who produced her first two self-released LPs, 11:11 and Songs. In this song, Regina performs a spoken word recitation of the Water Woman poem in Russian, which she translated from the original English version. There is no known live performance of "Water Woman [Russian Version]" featuring Regina Spektor.
