The second “silly cassette tape full of songs” Regina Spektor submitted to the U.S Copyright Office was entitled “Quarters”, with a copyright registration number of PAu002344238, which contained a cassette tape and nine lyrics sheets.¹

The work was signed on 1998-08-13 and submitted to the U.S. Copyright Office on 1998-08-20. The tape itself is marked with the text “Quarters”²

The cassette tape contained nine songs in total, one of which (“School Is Out”) would appear on a later cassette tape. Two other songs ("Quarters" and "Cradle") were included on the live LP Papa's Bootlegs, released in 2022 but originating from this same period. The remaining six songs never saw release and are unknown outside of this registered cassette tape. Track names were written on the label of the cassette tape itself.²

• The first track is entitled “Quarters”. It had a corresponding typed lyrics sheet. This is a different version of the live performance which appears on Papa's Bootlegs and contains a different ending.
• The second track is entitled “Cradle”. It had a corresponding typed lyrics sheet. This is a different version of the live performance which appears on Papa's Bootlegs.
• The third track is entitled “Flamingos”. It had a corresponding typed lyrics sheet.
• The fourth track is entitled “The Someone”. It had a corresponding typed lyrics sheet.
• The fifth track is entitled “Lotus Eaters”. It had a corresponding typed lyrics sheet. This song contains lyrics which were later repurposed for the song "Soho".
• The sixth track is entitled “School Is Out”. It had a corresponding typed lyrics sheet. This is is a different version of the demo which appears on the 1999 Demo Cassette.
• The seventh track is entitled “Used to Be”. It had a corresponding typed lyrics sheet.
• The eighth track is entitled “Little White Lie”. It had a corresponding typed lyrics sheet.
• The ninth and final track is entitled “My Own Road”. It had a corresponding typed lyrics sheet.

The audio quality indicates the songs were performed with an upright piano and microphone, recorded by a nearby cassette player. It is currently unknown where the “Quarters” cassette was recorded or if it was recorded over multiple sessions.
